Creatine is an intermediate compound of energy metabolism synthesized from L-arginine, glycine and L-methionine. It is produced by the liver and is used at the muscle level to regenerate ATP (adenosine triphosphate) during the first seconds of muscle contraction. Its function is therefore to maintain the cellular energy reserves of skeletal muscle, where it is stored both in free and phosphorylated form.

It is ideal for both pre and post-workout , especially in activities with anaerobic alactic metabolism such as strength training in the gym. Creatine increases physical performance in the case of repetitive, high intensity and short-duration activities. The beneficial effect is obtained with a minimum daily intake of 3 g of creatine.
